Is it possible to randomly sample based on company and not lead?

Hi everyone,

We're looking to randomly sample A/B emails. I can only figure out how to do it based on the lead level. That means if our customer has 2 admin accounts, they may get two different emails. Would it be possible to randomly sample at the company level? ie. any leads in the same company get the same email, but different companies (Accounts in SF) may get different emails?

THanks a lot!

There isn't anything like this right now that I"m aware of.

Workaround will be to clean up database to minimize duplicate records, looking beyond the email address to dedupe on name and company.

Then filter out accounts with generic names (ie admin) from your sampling.

Another option could be to run the split test by geography rather than random sample, so contacts at the same account will get the same email.

You would have to build separate lists, then random sample them.

As Steven and Courtland mentioned, cleaning up dupes first, then creating the desired Smart Lists to apply Random Sample should help reduce the possibility of a email clash.

Or maybe what you need to do is completely separate out the geos in a rough A/B with no random sample. Then you are assured of what Courtland suggests, at least that the same people at the same office location won't get two different emails.
