Email templates unable to be approved

An email template cannot be approved (green checkmark) because it does not have an "mkteditable section". This is a template formerly used in an ESP prior to our Marketo instance. Its html was cut & pasted into a fresh Marketo template.

What does this mean in the context of an email template, and how can I resolve this?

Thank you in advance

Re: Email templates unable to be approved

You need a mkteditable section in the email template in order to make the template editable.  You can look at this community article for information on how to add the mkteditable section.  Scroll to the section called "Making Sections of Your Template Editable"

Or if you simply want to send out an email based on your existing HTML (and not create a new template), use the Replace HTML function
