When Lead is only in Mkto - who is Lead Owner?

As part of our early-stage nurturing campaign, I would like to keep the leads in Marketo ONLY until ready for sales hand-off.

I want to use lead.owner tokens in the emails (as the FROM, for example) but I'm curious who the lead owner would be if the lead is not yet synched into SFDC?

The reason for using the token is I want to make the nurturing campaign available for sales in Sales Insight, so they can enter certain leads they add to SFDC manually, and have the emails still come from the lead owner.

Hi Naor,

While leads are only in Marketo they don't have a lead owner.  One solution for this would be to make sure you have a default value set for that token in your email.  If there is no value for that field when the email is sent then the default with be entered.
Will that accomplish what you want to do?

You could also hold all of those leads in a Lead Queue, which is what I prefer. You will still need to use John's solution for tokens.

Lead Queue's are one of those features in SFDC I have never had the need to utilize, likely until now. Do you have any good documentation you can share on how to setup a queue Josh?
