Working with clients on email deliverability - FAQ, best practice?

Many times I run across a client who says that they have not been receiving emails from us even though Marketo is showing as delivered.

I feel like I should be providing them some steps for helping them work with their email server provider to whitelist us and go through other possible scenerios for helping remedy the problem.  Saying, it must be on your end just doesn't sit well as good customer service.

How does your organization handle these issues?

I believe there is a FAQ somewhere.

If the client wants your emails, then do the following:
  1. ensure DKIM/SPF is setup on your end
  2. consider a dedicate IP
  3. Ask the client to add your domain and the shared IP to their white list at the Postini and Outlook levels.  There are some instructions for this someplace.
  4. https://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000KypECAS
  5. check the Email Bounce reasons for email addresses at that domain. See what they are.
