Can you use the Email Analytics Report for Nurture/Engagement Programs?

When I do an outbound program I setup an Email Report to monitor it's progress/success.

I recently started a nurture/engagement program and setup the same report, but for some reason when I go to the report, it displays the results of all my campaigns.

I used the "member of engagement program" filter to narrow down the results, but it doesn't help.  I also added "was sent email' to the list of filters and still the report gives me all campaigns as a result.

Does it matter if it's a program dropped into a nurture campaign?  Alternatively, I tried just "member of program" to no avail.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Can you use the Email Analytics Report for Nurture/Engagement Programs?

Hi Dominick,

What you'll want to do is create a new report within your engagement program by right clicking and choosing 'create new local asset'.

When you choose the report type you'll want to use one of the following:
Engagement Stream Performance report [or]
Email Performance report

I think the stream performance report provides better insight for this program type, but you can experiment with either one.  The last thing you want to do, to avoid the report showing results from all your campaigns, is go to the Setup tab and double click on the 'selected emails' filter.  This will open up a tree where you can select the engagement program from which you want to pull the specific emails for your report.

Hope this helps.

Re: Can you use the Email Analytics Report for Nurture/Engagement Programs?

Thanks Nate, that worked perfectly.  For some reason I never saw that report before.

One other question if you can.  How can I see the members in each stream in one program?  I'm only seeing members of the whole program, and there's no stream identifier field in the database.

Thanks!

To view the stream members, you can either create a smart list, or you can go to the Members tab, where it says View Default at the top, select Edit Default. Add the Engagement Program Stream to the Visible columns. You can then sort the column to see who is a member of which stream.

When you can create a smart list do:
Member of engagement program, choose the engagement program, add the stream constraint to see the specific stream members.

Thanks Michelle.  One other way you could view members by stream is by selecting the engagement program tab (to the left of the 'streams' tab when you're in your program).  You can toggle the main view on this page - by default it will be displaying the 'Dashboard' view.  If you click on the downward green arrow, I like to use the Summary option.

You can then scroll down and the Summary will break down for you:
- Total members
- Members by Program status
- Members by Stream membeship

Re: Can you use the Email Analytics Report for Nurture/Engagement Programs?

Nate,

I have a new question.  I'm running two engagement programs now, and have setup reports for each, but for some reason each of their results are displayed in both reports, even though I specifically called out each program separately in the smart list.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: Can you use the Email Analytics Report for Nurture/Engagement Programs?

Yes I think I understand what's happening here.  Instead of specifying the campaigns in the smart list section of your Report, you'll want to go to the Setup tab (one to the right of Smart List when you're in the Report).

From here, you'll want to drag the filter "Engagement Program Emails" into the center panel.  Once the filter is in the center panel, double click on it to open up a window, from which you can check off the Engagement Program(s) you want to be pulled into your report.  You may want to just clear any filters you've got in your Report's smart list at this point as well.  Hopefully this does the trick for you.
