Question about Flow in a Batch Campaign

Forgive my newbieness....I'm running an Invitation sequence in a Smart Campaign for a Roadshow event.

The initial email and changing of Member Status to invited is straightfoward, but here's where I'm missing something. The next step is to wait 2 days, followed by another step "If Program Status is Roadshow > Invited, send Email - default choice Do Nothing."

The problem is that at least one person that was already registered received the second invite. Shouldn't the logic of checking their program status have removed them from that second email send?

Do I need to set up each follow-up invitation in it's own Smart Campaign, versus having it in a multi-step Flow? (hope not)

Thanks!

Re: Question about Flow in a Batch Campaign

Hi David,
Marketo checks lead's status before each flow step, so the same lead should not have received your invitation twice.

Maybe you have duplicate leads for that person? In a "Send email" flow step, Marketo detects duplicates and sends email only to one of them (to avoid overmailing). So perhaps the 2nd duplicate lead did not receive the email in the 1st "Send Email" step, his status was not changed to "Invited" so he received the 2nd email. And on the user's side it looks like getting the same email again.

Re: Question about Flow in a Batch Campaign

Thanks @Elena - I found the same lead in the list as having two different email addresses...given that I just cloned that Program for a few events, was hoping it wasn't a programmatic mistake I made.

Thanks!
