Aborting Smart Campaign w/Email Send

Hi there,

This afternoon we had to pull the brake and stop a Smart Campaign, seconds after I'd hit "run now." I quickly clicked on the abort campaign button and it appears that the campaign stopped running. When I view the summary page for the campaign and look at "last run" it says "shutdown." And when I look at the results tab it says "no data found."

All of this leads me to believe that the campaign truly did abort and did not send to anyone. However, I've heard in the past that this doesn't always work and there's a danger of accidentally re-sending to people you didn't intend to send to again.

Is there any other way to know that your campaign did not run and really did abort? Any other place I should be checking?

Thanks,
Mariah

Re: Aborting Smart Campaign w/Email Send

If you were sending content to the people in your campaign, you can look and see if anyone in the target received the email. That can be done by a quick Smart List in the Lead Database. Use the criteria you had in your program and then add another filter that checks to see if they received the email in the program. If you run it and no leads show, you are in good shape. If you see a few, you'll know the campaign started but then stopped after you hit abort.

Given what you described, I would be surprised if anyone received anything. It usually takes a minute or two for things to start running.
