Sending to portion of a list

Does anyone know how to send an email to just a portion of a smart list? I am looking to send to 100 people of my list, see the results and then send to another 100 of the list. I'm trying to do this without breaking the original list apart into smaller lists.

Thanks for any help!

You can do an AB Test inside an email program to test out different messages, etc. to a smaller population.  Click here for more information

I tried that but I have to choose what I send to a 'winner' and I don't want to do that. I just want to send to 100 people on my list of 3300 and see my results. Then I can decide later if I want to send to another 100 or not.

Julia,

If you use the "add to list" parameter in your flow, you can select random sample and select the amount (%) you want to grab. Then you would add the name of your list. In your smart list, you would have to select from a static list as oppose to a dynimic list because the number of members may change overtime for the latter.

You could also continue to use the smart list along with the random sample flow step. Then for subsequent sends add a filter, "Was Not Sent Email" so that you don't double send to anyone with in that list. If you're just interested in sending to little groups at a time, it perhaps would not matter if the overall population of the smart list changes slightly, so long as no one receives the email twice.
