Friday Five: Update on the Calendar in case you missed the email

Nation:

Good news about the newly released Calendar

Cheryl tells me that we will be turning on Marketing Calendar for all customers, so that everyone can experience the new functionality.

In addition, we have modified how we count Marketing Calendar licenses, allowing you the flexibility to choose which users can access Marketing Calendar.

Note: You will receive an email notification before your account is enabled.

What does this mean for me?

  • Everyone gets access to Marketing Calendar until 1 week after our August release
  • All customers get 5 free user licenses of Marketing Calendar in their subscription
  • With our August release, your Marketo Admin will have to pick the 5 users who continue to get free access.

Re: Friday Five: Update on the Calendar in case you missed the email

Hey Scott, we're excited to get our hands on the calendar... I'm not sure, though, if we're going to be utilizing it to the full extent that we initially thought when we saw it at Summit and were told it would be included in our instance of Marketo. The limitation of the licensing means that  unless there are sharing capabilities that don't require a license, then it loses a significant part of the functionality that Marketo is trying to push it as having. Without sharing, it won't be our team's primary calendar that we utilize, and will become "just another calendar". Is there sharing available, or any ideas for this in the near future?

Re: Friday Five: Update on the Calendar in case you missed the email

Hi Scott,

I'm excited to see the calendar rolled out in our sandbox instance. I'm curious how, an admin, to give permissions to other to see the marketing calendar? I couldn't figure it out from documentation available and from poking around on the admin side.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Lindsey,

The ability to assign Marketing Calendar access to individual Marketo users will be coming in our August release. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be turning on Marketing Calendar for everyone (for a limited time). Please see the full details here:

Re: Friday Five: Update on the Calendar in case you missed the email

Scott,

My organization's very excited to get our collective mits on the marketing calendar. I can't wait!

Will there be guidance/recommendations from Marketo available on how to deploy it to a monitor or screen such that it's MADE visibile (literally) to people? I'm sure this would tie into licensing and the 5-seat free access limit you're describing.

Thanks,
Scott

Really excited to get our hands on all the new features. When do you expect for the rollout of all July 2014 relese features to be complete for all customers? I keep hoping to log in and see the new interface.

Re: Friday Five: Update on the Calendar in case you missed the email

Just checked out the new Calendar feature in our instance, so far it looks great!

Is there a place to provide feedback or suggestions to the product team about  the Calendar?

For instance, Is there a way to display both the Program Name and Smart Campaign name for the individual events on the Calendar Days?  In our instance we repeat the same smart campaign name, and leverage the Program Name to add specific detail about the camapaign.  We do this to avoid repeating the Program Name in two places, however on the calendar all we see is "Send Email"

Otherwise, this looks like it will be very useful to the team.

Thanks,
Brian
