Is anyone using Marketo Sky yet? If so, I'd love to hear your feedback - love it? hate it?
I've been switching back and forth - not yet having ability to access member of list/smart list for filters or Event/Email programs at the program level means that you can't really wholly move to Sky as a team until you have all the filters and program types in the system. That said, I love Labels and the Saved Filters, it's just a little more of a Beta than I feel comfortable with activating beyond our power users.
Does it have version control and/or are they planning to implement this feature?
Only Marketing Activities is available on the next gen UI for beta testers, so, it is sort of an incomplete experience.
The filters are handy though, and it looks nice.
I echo what Darrell and Oliver stated. I've been bouncing back and forth. I like some of the efficiency gains. I feel like processing is faster but I don't feel that the UX is any faster if that makes sense. It find myself reverting back to the classic experience more often than not b/c I don't like the two experiences.
How do I enable it? I want to try it and I thought I clicked to turn it on, but noting changed.
You'll need to click the "Next Gen UX (Beta)" tile on your homepage to access it Introducing Marketo Next-Gen UX Beta – Marketo Next-Gen UX Beta Help Center
I created a separate login and role for beta testing. I echo what others are saying, its maybe 25% functional. Not something you can roll out for anyone other than an admin type to play with.
You do not need a separate login in fact.
The simplest way to roll it out is to create a specific role and assign access to the nextgen UI only to this role. Then you can grant that role to the specific people you want.
We started dabbling in it yesterday, but quickly found we had to go back to the original. Had some issues with accessing subfolders within programs.
It's most definitely Beta, but I'm looking forward to watching it get polished up!
The login will be shared by beta users, the role is beta test user basically no one wants to use this version yet.
I turned on Sky this morning. Overall, the new UI is really polished and easier to navigate. It's clearly Beta, but I'm really excited to see how everything pans out! Here is a list of Known Issues and Pending Features.
I was looking forward to training some new team members exclusively in the new UI, but was disappointed to find that Event programs aren't available. Once they're available, we'll be switching over.
I have been checking the beta version back and fourth and found so many things are yet to come before we completely migrate to this.
I've been bouncing back and forth too. Seems to be faster and I like the UI. Looking forward for the full version.
Opened it. First thing I tried to do was not supported yet. Bailed. Will be back when more of a complete experience. Anyone know if Marketo has published a timeline or roadmap for the UI?
Am I the only one that is really not a fan of the color scheme? I don't love the white-text-on-dark-purple - feels hard to read...and also all of the icons being basically the same white and cream colors make distinguishing between different objects pretty difficult at a glance (ie it'd be nice if folders vs archived folders looked more distinct from each other, as well as programs vs smart campaign coloring).
I agree that the UI feels faster, but for me, the UX, based on some of the design/color scheme choices, still feels awkward/uncomfortable...
Yes, I find it very hard to read!
Hi Victoria Chu and Everyone else in this thread,
I have written a detailed blog on all new features, comparison and the efficient use of Marketo Sky, in which I have also depicted the details with screenshots. Here is the link to my blog - Marketo Sky - New Features, Comparison and efficient use . Hope this helps . Please feel free to share your feedback and any additional perspectives that you might have.
Still too buggy to use in a production environment. We're noticing several of our existing programs missing constraints, values, tokens, etc. For example, here's a subset of flow steps from an existing smart campaign:
When accessing this in Sky, some of the fields contain no values (this is consistent across all of our programs/smart campaigns):
In many of our smart campaigns, many of the tokens are simply not there.
A couple other quick observations:
Here are some helpful resources as Marketo continues to roll out Sky features:
Hi Emily Allison,
Thanks for sharing this info. Its really helpful and insightful.
I've noticed the same thing Dan calls out - about the missing information. But I do use Skye occasionally for the saved filter set capability. I just select the saved filter set and then go back to the regular UI to continue.
I've tried it a few times after they released the beta this summer, but it was too buggy to be productive, then I recently tried again after they launched it with the latest release, but I'm finding there's still a lot of features that are still "Not yet available in Sky." So I'm going to wait it out a little longer before diving fully into it.
