Drip and nuture - smart list filter problematics

Hi there,

I am doing a drip and nurture but the list isn't pulling in the right numbers.

The issue is using so many filters and I haven't used this many before.

I used this logic: ((1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7) or (8 and 9 and 10 and 11 and 12)) and 13 and 14 and 15 and 16

15. Segment is specific to my company - should pull in 228,306

16. member of smart list should pull in 64546

Currently the number is pulling: 18881 existing people when it should be more.

Please can someone let me know if these filters are right? I used this logic: ((1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7) or (8 and 9 and 10 and 11 and 12)) and 13 and 14 and 15 and 16

You'll need to move this question to Products. "About" isn't a support space. Move link will be at the right.

Re: Drip and nuture - smart list filter problematics

If you are using the logic ....15 and 16 then that means that people have to be in both (15 Segment and 16 Smart List). I'm guessing you need a final pair of parenthesis "And (15 OR 16)".

This means that as well as all the logic before it the person has to be on one of these two lists. At the minute you are checking that they are on both lists which is what is reducing your number.

Re: Drip and nuture - smart list filter problematics

Hey Lizzie,

If you are seeing a massive drop off, I would suggest breaking down your smart list and add the filters one by one to see where the drop off happens.

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry. The number is way too high - total number should be apparently around 2,000. I think it is pulling in global instead of only EMEA.

Thanks

Re: Drip and nuture - smart list filter problematics

The best way to think of this is top down, which is how Marketo processes this.

So think if you want only

(Everyone in EMEA...(who matches conditions 2,3,4,5) OR (who matches 6,7,8))

(that's an example only)

but if you look at Filter 1, you may want to move it outside the first parenthetical group, more like 1 and ((234) OR (567))

and if everyone has to match the final filters, it's prob better to do those FIRST. The list will load faster because it is narrowing down the search from the top.

Re: Drip and nuture - smart list filter problematics

Hi Josh,

Thank you for your response. I feel the number is slightly too high. I used this logic: 1 and ((2 and 3 and 4) or (5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 and 10 and 11 and 12 and 13 and 14 and 15 and 16))

I would like to include everyone in EMEA, in that member of smart list and in that segment with that matched account. I don't want them in those countries, not containing those email domains, any email invalid, marketing suspended false, unsubscribed false, company name is not, and not in matched account name (list of companies), is not a SFDC type contact, user, is not accepted, rejected or working, is not in content syndication nurture, is not a matched account type customer or partner and not a customer or partner in SFDC.

How does ''is not differ to false and not contains?'' or does it not make a difference?

Re: Drip and nuture - smart list filter problematics

It was mentioned previously but I think you need to break this down further and reference the smart lists. You still have a lot of logic statements such as (2 and 3 and 4) bring this together and troubleshoot.
