Hard bounced

Hi everyone,

Our send list is ~ 200,000 and we always get hard bounce in the range of 2000- 2500 and soft bounce around 600.

I am already suppressing all these fields ( with ANY logic) -

1. "Email Invalid" TRUE

2. "Black Listed" TRUE
3. "Unsubscribed" TRUE
4. "Email Suspended" TRUE

5. "Marketing Suspended" TRUE

6. "Email address is EMPTY

7. Email bounced is any in past 30 days, minimum number of times 2 ( our cadence is twice a week)

8. Email bounced soft is any in past 30 days, minimum number of times 2

Even after suppressing all these fields, we are always getting hard bounce ( 2000-2500) and soft bounce( 600).

Question- Am I missing any Marketo field which I need to add in my suppression list? What else could be done to clean up the data? How I can get the report about which email addresses are getting always hard bounced?

Re: Hard bounced

There are a lot of threads on this.

  1. if they aren't opted in, you will get some % bounce.
  2. 1% is really good!
  3. You should invalidate anyone hard bouncing more than once or twice. Your smart list will run faster.

Re: Hard bounced

Hi Josh,

How will I invalidate anyone hard bouncing more than once or twice? Which Marketo field needs to be used?

In addition, does the reduction in hard bounces and soft bounces help in overall improvement of email deliver ability or reputation?

We are getting 2000 hard bounces after suppressing email invalid and other fields. How to get the list of hard bounce contacts ?

Thanks

S D,

I would recommend you take a look at the below post and build a program around its practices that would benefit the way your business operates.
