Lead owner assignment - exclusions for clients?

Hi, I'm currently reviewing our lead lifecycle as we had some issue with incorrect lead assigment.

At the MQL stage (if a lead scores 75) we hand them over to a specific Market Dev Rep. However, some of our clients scored 75 recently and the lead owner got changed to the MDR but should have really stayed in the Account Managers name.

Is there a way to make exclusions for already assigned leads? I will also have to do this for 8 different partitions with different MDRs.

Re: Lead owner assignment - exclusions for clients?

Hi Anissa,

I recently had this exact issue. In the flow, we used choices to define when to change the lead owner. So for example, if John Doe is you MDR, you could say to only change to John Doe if lead owner is empty (or whoever your default lead owner is.) Your default choice would then be to do nothing.

Let me know if there is something I can explain further. Also, please note that any notifications that are send to the MDR will now be sent to the lead owner.

Re: Lead owner assignment - exclusions for clients?

We use the choice option Lauren mentioned, but we also have a lot of old leads owned by marketing. So we do two choices in our flow steps.

1. If lead owner email address is empty, assign to John Doe.
2. If lead owner email address is marketing@xxxxx.com, assign to John Doe.

And then the default is Do Nothing.

Re: Lead owner assignment - exclusions for clients?

Thanks, I thought about that as well. The problem I have is that in the flow I need "if partition is France, assign to Joe" already as a choice. In theory I need two choices for each country: "If partition is France and if previsous lead owner is X, assign to Joe". But I don't think that is possible in the flow?

Re: Lead owner assignment - exclusions for clients?

Hmm would it work if you did:

If lead owner email address is not empty, Remove From Flow

Then in a separate step...
If partition if France, assign to Joe?

Or do you need all leads to stay in the flow regardless of whether or not you'll be reassigning them to your MDRs?

Re: Lead owner assignment - exclusions for clients?

Thinking about it, I probably don't have to include the partitions as they will be assigned before hand. changing from one owner to another should be enough.

Thanks for your help!
