Nurture campaign and triggers?

I am trying to set up a nurture campaign based on a specific trigger. How do I do this?

I have set up a nurture program of a set of emails. I want this triggered when someone hits the submit button on a form on a landing page. I don't see any way to set up an initial trigger in nurture programs. Is this doable? If so how? How do I set up the realtionship between the landing page and this nurture program?

Thanks!

Re: Nurture campaign and triggers?

Hi Margo, what they are explaining may be easier understood in the following screen shots.
  1. Create the program folder
  2. Create the engagement program in that folder
  3. Within that program create a smart campaign that "listens" for the form completion and triggers the first stream in your engagement program.
  4. The first email you want sent should be in that first stream.

EX. email in engagement program stream  (view and manage in streams tab)

Hope this helps clarify things a bit. the instructions on the community are a little vauge in this area so it is easy to get confused.

Re: Nurture campaign and triggers?

Hi Margo,

You need to set up a trigger campaign with your specific condition, Fills out Form in this case, and then have a flow of Add to Engagement Program, Program is My Program, Stream is My Stream.  Once you've done this, you can activate the campaign, and it will begin adding leads to the nurture stream when they fill out the form.

Re: Nurture campaign and triggers?

Just to clarify what Kenny said - the campaign needs to be inside the Engagement Program as a separate smart campaign. NOT a transition rule.

Re: Nurture campaign and triggers?

"inside the engagement program" meaning? I tried this and set the smart campaign under the program. Is this what you meant? or something else?  I don't know what you mean by "transition rule". Newbie here.

Also, if I want the first email to go out after the trigger event do I include that in that smart campaign and then add the flow to the engagement program for the follow up emails?

Thanks for the responses.

Re: Nurture campaign and triggers?

Thanks, that really helped and was pretty much what I had done.

My only concern now is in setting the stream cadence in the program. I only see weekly and monthly repeats.
If I want the first email to go out immediately after the trigger, Will it do so since it is first in the nurture program? And the other two in the stream will go out weekly or monthly as I might set them up? Is there a way to choose less that a week, such as 5 days for the second email and 10 days for the third?

Or is this two streams? One for the initial email and a second for the following two? or....?

Thanks!

Re: Nurture campaign and triggers?

Depending on my needs I create two streams for something like this or  have the email be sent via the smart campaign instead of the stream and then have them added to the first stream with the rest of the emails which you can set cadence for.

Just really depends on what works smoothest for your situation.

As far as choosing less than a week - technically you can by selecting multiple days in the week BUT you will probably run into several issues such as--- communication limits and being marked as spam because you are hitting people too frequently.

I would suggest not setting the cadence that fast.

Re: Nurture campaign and triggers?

Thanks so much! Your responses were extremely helpful and very clear. The reason I was asking about emails in a shorter time period is in support of product trials where we send out specific tips and suggestions for use in the trial period we offer and not in terms of purely marketing messages.
