Engagement Dynamic Trigger and Progressive Scoring

Hi Community,

I am creating a Engagement program which including 5 emails will send every Wednesday. There are 5 different email programs created inside the Engagement program. There will be different score associate with each email, such as trial download, clicked link etc. One of the email example screenshot as below.

Example:

Program Logic SC:

My questions are regarding dynamic trigger and progressive scoring from the requirement.

Dynamically trigger emails based on engagement

  • If a user opens or clicks an email, send the next email from the nurture (next touch) the following day instead of waiting for the next week.
  • For all of those contacts who receive a touch but do not interact with it (do not open or click the email) the cadence must remain the same, and they should receive the next touch on the original schedule the following week.

Implement Progressive Scoring, if lead clicks any 2 emails from the program, automatically bump score up to 100

I am not sure how should I set up to achieve above goals. If you built the similar case before, can you please share some tips or potential solution with me?

Thanks in advance,

Becky

Re: Engagement Dynamic Trigger and Progressive Scoring

The ssimplest way is to set up 2 streams in the same EP, with the same emails, but different cast schedule.

When someone fires a triggering event, move from the weekly cast stream to the daily cast stream.

And as Sanford says, forget about scoring on email opens or email clicks.

Scoring on visit web page with a "clicked link in email" filter will be better, but not 100% bullet proof. When the person hits the engagement event and are not a member of the static list, add them to a static list. When they fire the engagement event and are a member send them to telemarketing.

First: you must not score based on built-in click tracking. You'll be bumping mail scanners up to 100, not humans.

Re: Engagement Dynamic Trigger and Progressive Scoring

Hi Greg,

I really appreciate the details you shared with me, great help especially interpreted Sanford's comment.

For moving lead from one stream to another steam, assumed I may need to use the "Transition rules" or a trigger campaign. Something like added the second stream - stream 2, edit the Transition rules that if opens or clicks and not in steam 2, then move to steam 2. However, I found I can't change "use All filters" to "use Any filters". So I may need to try just create a trigger campaign, instead of editing the transition rules. Not sure what's benefit of editing transition rules. Do you have any comment?

About the scoring part,

- clicks single link: I can do if link = A, Score = X, etc. for 5 different links.

- clicks two links: not sure how to set up for now, maybe use the logic if clicked on any two of the emails/links, then +100. But what if a lead clicks the same link twice, will this count as "Number of Times = 2"?

- clicks more than  2 links: ......

Will have more thinking to do  to figure out how to combine and set up above criteria.

Best,

Becky

Re: Engagement Dynamic Trigger and Progressive Scoring

Hi Becky,

  1. Do not use transition rules, use smart campaigns.
  2. When having multiple triggers, it's always an OR between them. By design, 2 triggers cannot fire "together". The AND or OR only regards the filters below the triggers, if any.
