Smart Campaign Flow

Hello,

I have an instance I need help on.  I have a client that have rental apartments.  We want to have it based on their desired move-in date.  I am looking at the time flow and see that most of the options require a hard date, which isn't something we want to do.  How am I able to select a range?  Example: 3-5 months

I know that there's the 'in future after', but does the 'in future' account for a date range?

So for example, say Bob wants to move in on February 8, 2018, and I would like to launch a 4 part Welcome Series about 2 months prior, how would I set that up?

Hi Lucy Vinh,

What you might want to try is using a token in an advanced wait step - see: Use a Date Token in a Wait Flow Step - Marketo Docs - Product Docs

This would allow you to wait until "Move in date minus 60 days", then recheck that they still meet your criteria and start your welcome series.

Hope that helps!

To select a range like that in a smart list that is dynamic, try combining two filters:

  • Date is in future after 3 months
  • Date is in future before 5 months

Combining these two you would get your range.

Re: Smart Campaign Flow

So would this make sense?

0-3 months:

  - in future 90 days

  - in future after 91 days

3-6 months:

  - in future 91 days

  - in future after 181 days

I would try

0-3 months:

   - in future 90 days

3-6 months:

   - in future after 91 days

   - in future before 181 days

Re: Smart Campaign Flow

There isn't an 'in future before' option to use.

Re: Smart Campaign Flow

Sorry Lucy - had my wires crossed.

Do something like this for 3-6 months and any future date ranges:

future_date_range_smart_list.jpg

Where the "in future after" filter represents the lower bound of the date range and the "in future" filter represents the upper bound of the date range.

Re: Smart Campaign Flow

Thanks Justin. Quick question. For the in future 180 days, does this mean

it's exactly 180 days or is it up to 180 days? I want to make sure it's

capturing everything in between and that it's not saying it's literally 180

days. Hope that makes sense.

Re: Smart Campaign Flow

"in future" works the same as "in past" meaning anytime between now and the date that is x days/weeks/months before or after now.

So you should be fine.

But make sure to test carefully to be sure.
