What is the difference between a form in Design Studio and a form in Marketing Activities?

I am somewhat confused and I am hoping someone can help me.

When (and how) would I be using the forms created in the Design Studio vs forms created under Marketing Activities?

I want to create a 'Contact Us' form in incorporate on a page in our corporate website. Is there a preference which approach to take?

Thanks in advance

None from the technical standpoint.

The main difference - and benefit - is keeping forms where they are most relevant.

A Contact Us form is a good candidate for Design Studio since it may be used by multiple landing pages.

A form for a webinar registration would be the perfect fit for a local asset of a program/event in Marketing Activities.

Thanks for the fast response Breno. It seems that the Design Studio has less flexibility than the Marketing Activities. Is that a correct understanding?

Also, is there any problem with simply cloning the form from Marketing Activities and modifying it for multiple landing pages?

TIA

Hi Patrick,
the standard case in the Marketing Activities is to clone whole Programs. So a webinar registration program which Breno mentioned contains a form, landing pages, emails, maybe Smart Campaigns and can also be configured with Tokens (for the program).
When you have a new Webinar you clone the program and modify information like date, topics, speaker, etc

But if you need and want to you can also clone and move single Forms.

Design Studio is for Templates and (maybe) a standard contact us page. When you want to sendout stuff and want to create whole campaigns you need to use Marketing Activities. So it's not about flexibility, it's about the usecase.

Best regards

we keep all our forms in design studio. we create landing pages in marketing activities but always add a form from designe studio. we have several variations of forms and you can use the one you want in a program but this allwos us to keep track of forms and make sure they all have the fields we need for various types of activities.

Hi there,
I like the idea of having a master form in Design studio, however, how do you make sure they go to different thank you pages once in a campaign?

Thanks,
Kristin

kristin
that happens when you build the landing page and add form to it- you choose form from design studio then there is area to add follow up page and you choose landing page or external page and pick your follow up/thank you page
