Adding a flow step to smart campaign

Hello!

Many of my programs use smart campaigns for when a lead downloads a piece of content. The flow steps then change the program status and send an alert email. There are no wait steps in the flow. Leads can only go through the smart campaign once. I want to add a "send email" step, so that moving forward, leads will receive a follow-up email.

If I add that step now, will everyone who has gone through the campaign receive the email? Or will it just be sent to leads who enter the campaign from this point forward?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Kristen

Changes to a trigger SC won't go backward! They'll apply to leads who go through the flow in future.

It will NOT send the email to previous leads that have entered through the smart campaign, any new leads will be sent the email.

Re: Adding a flow step to smart campaign

I'm adding 1 more layer of complexity to this question. I have a smart-campaigns with 3 emails and 2 wait steps. I want to add 2 more emails and 2 more wait steps today even though this smart campaign has been running for a few months and triggering people daily.

It's clear from this thread that prospects who 'trigger' this campaign starting today after I add these steps will receive the additional two emails in the flow. On the other hand, what about the prospects who are, say, on that 2nd email in the series today? Will they get send these new 2 additional emails or will they not receive them (because the 2 addntl. emails didnt exist when they first entered the flow)?

Re: Adding a flow step to smart campaign

Jamie,

Adding those additional steps will run for new leads entering the flow as well as leads already in the flow, if they have not entered those steps yet. So if these new steps are added at the end of the flow, leads in earlier steps will run through. If you place these new steps earlier in the flow and leads are still in the flow, but have already passed the new steps, they will continue through the flow and will not run through the new steps.
