Is it possible to configure subdomains for Marketo redirects in emails?

Hi!

Pls. see attached screenshot.

Notice how hovering over a clickable element shows the Marketo redirect.

Is it possible to configure a custom subdomain to display instead or the actual URL that the user will be clicking?

I understand that the redirect is to enable Marketo to track clicks, but we're concerned about users thinking our emails are phishing scams etc. if they don't recognize the URLs.

Thank you!

You'll want to brand your tracking URLs: Brand Your Tracking Links. While this won't allow you to show the actual destination URL (there's no way around this), at least the tracking URL will be branded with your domain.

... or the actual URL that the user will be clicking?

The URL that they're clicking is the tracking domain URL. Any attempt to camouflage that, say by putting another destination as the text of the , is far more likely to make the email look like a phishing scam.

Re: Is it possible to configure subdomains for Marketo redirects in emails?

Maybe I didn't explain this well.

In the screenshot, we WANT the user to see the destination URL, "http://www.jobtarget.com" that they'll be going to vs. the Marketo redirect.

Is it possible to display the actual destination URLs in an email when a user hovers over clickable elements but yet still have all links tracked by Marketo?

Thank you Sanford!

I really appreciate your help.

Guess it wasn't clear that you hadn't set up a branding (tracking) domain yet (attachments don't show up in default list view).

Again, be careful not to obscure the link: <a href="http://go.example.com/123456>http://www.example.com/homepage looks like a phishing link and will be flagged by anti-spam software.

You did explain it well, but I think you don't understand what phishing looks like.

If you try to manipulate the URL -- the actual URL they are going to when they click the link, which is the tracking domain -- that's going to make the link more suspicious. Having a link to go.example.com doesn't look like phishing. Having a link to go.example.com that you falsely relabel as www.example.com looks like phishing.
