Change a Lead Status Based on Lead Score

I have a question on a smart campaign I am trying to set up. Here is what I am trying to achieve:

Every time the lead's score reaches a certain threshold (i.e. above 50 points, above 100 points, above 150 points...etc) If their lead status is closed, I would like to change there status to new. What is the best way to set this up?

HI Bethany,

Please move this question to Products where it belongs. Marketing Central is for generic marketing questions. Read here to learn more. And yes, this is confusing, as Sanford would write

Re: Change a Lead Status Based on Lead Score

Hi Bethany,

In the smart list of a smart campaign, you can combine a trigger (data value changes, attribute = score, new value at least 50, previous value less than 50) and a filter (lead status is Closed). then in the flow, use a "Change data value" flow step to set the status.

But on a larger point of you:

  • Based on the series of questions you just asked, you probably need the help of some consultant to help you define your lead management process and set it up in Marketo. this is a complex thing to design and make work and it will surely take a lot of change management to get the sales (who should be involved in the design) used to it.
  • The mere notion of a lead being "closed" is typical of the old (prior to Marketing Automation) way of managing leads and kind of negated the notion of a lead lifecycle by which a lead is never closed, it is simply recycled to an upper stage in your funnel.
