What is the difference between unsubscribe, marketing suspended, and blacklist?

Users still seem to be receiving emails although they have unsubscribed. There is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email sent. We want to avoid customer emails explaining their frustration with this. Do we need to suspend the marketing rather than just clarify they've unsubsrived? How do we solve this? Thank you!

Re: What is the difference between unsubscribe, marketing suspended, and blacklist?

Unsubscribe=TRUE means they should never get an email UNLESS the email is set to operational. Operational emails are transcations like a receipt or a webinar registration. Use with care.

Marketing Suspended=TRUE is intended as a temp unsubscribe that is requested by marketing or sales for any reason.

Blacklist=TRUE - they will never, ever receive any email again no matter how hard they try.

Could you describe the situation more? Maybe you need to setup  better Supression Lists to ensure the right people are getting in or getting excluded.

I'd recommend researching the leads in question by checking their Activity Log.
