a global rule to avoid lead owner change for certain campaigns

Is there any way to create one global smart campaign that will precede any other smart campaigns?

We currently use auto Lead Assignment in SFDC.  Whenever there's a lead comes in, it will auto assign/re-assign to the lead owner based on their territories.  However, there are certain leads, we should never change the owner.  Instead of having a flow step for each of our campaigns to avoid lead re-assignment happens, is there anyway we can just set up a global rule that catches all?

Thanks!

Teresa

You can sort of do this if you setup your lifecycle such that only ONE campaign has permission to Sync Lead to SFDC.

But the situation you describe isn't really a Marketo issue:

  • Net new leads can be sent to SFDC using a Marketo SFDC step. If we don't explicitly assign an Owner, then the SFDC LAR kicks in.
    • Subsequently, the Sync Lead to SFDC step = Auto Assignment will NEVER re-assign a lead again.
  • SFDC LAR - it is possible to build it such that it always re-assigns based on a field value, like Lead Source, Country, or Status. Not much Marketo will do about that - other than avoiding a change to that value.

So to solve your problem, please go to your SFDC Admin to rebuild your LAR to do what you want.

Hi Josh,

always keep in mind that SFDC LAR's only fire for new leads, not updated leads. There is an idea here about this:

We also have developed a workaround for this limitation. I'll send the SFDC package link it to anyone following me and asking for it in a DM.
