Progressive Profiling

Hello,

I have a situation. Our database is all over the place and we need to clean it up. We want to ask the customers who have already been through our progressive profiling prompts to re enter their annual operating budgets since the values were completely wrong before. Is there anyway to do that in Marketo? I.E. Re use progressive profiling to re-ask a question even though we have asked that question in progressive profiling forms before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Leslie

Re: Progressive Profiling

Please move the question to Products. "Community" is for feedback about the Marketo Nation itself -- and yes, that is confusing!

I'll answer the question once it's moved.

Leslie Green I'm heading out for the day and figured I'd answer here anyway... pls still move the question (and mark my answer as Correct ).

The answer is simply to empty the current values. ProgPro is more naive than you might think -- it's not looking at "Has the lead answered the question in a particular context?" but "Is the value non-empty?" For this reason, you should make "N/A" or some special character like "~" represent a purposely-left-blank text field.

Re: Progressive Profiling

Sanford,

I am having an issue now. I have changed the values over to the new values and used smart lists to resort the data but the default values in the pick list havent changed. For instance ran smart lists that changed 2047 Annual Operating fields to from "$3,000,000 to $8,000,000" to "$3,000,000 to $12,000,000". When i run a smart list it isn't showing the new values in the selector. I also want to know how to set up default selector values when i create new fields.

May take time to add existing values to the index.

Not sure exactly what you mean, but when you add a Select field to a form you specify the allowed values. But Marketo doesn't natively support a "Choose from the list or type your own value" field type.  You have to add your own widget for that.

Re: Progressive Profiling

I ran the campaigns to adjust the values yesterday. Could it be taking that long to refresh?

I found several customers whose information has been updated to the new budget brackets and yet still the system isnt recognizing the new values it is showing the old ones when i try to run smart lists.

Re: Progressive Profiling

You should be able to run the SL against the new values, regardless of whether the value is browsable (that is, manually type it).
