Hiding an Existing form field

Is it possible, using Forms 2.0 to hide an field, so that we can use the value of the field to show a rich-text field if the value known of the user is a certain value?

Example:  I want to hide the field for "Country", but when the user clicks on a link in the email (so user is known), the country filled stays hidden at all times, but the form pulls in the value for that user, and if Country=Canada then a rich-text box hidden in the form then shows with instructions?  So essentially the form knows the user is from Canada and then shows special instructions.  If user is from anywhere other than Canada, the rich-text box stays hidden.

Make sense? Clear as mud? 🙂  Thanks for any help.

Re: Hiding an Existing form field

Hey Mike,

You sure can! Place the Country field on the form and change the Field Type on the right to hidden. Then, add another field but select Rich Text. Fill in your instructions and save. Then, when you select the Rich Text, on the right, you will see Visibility Rules disabled. Click on the "disabled". There, you can say show when Country is CA, Canada, etc. Approve the form, add it to your landing page, and test! It should work for ya.

Re: Hiding an Existing form field

Hi Jeff -

I thought it was that easy, and tried it prior to posting my question, tested  it - and it did not work.  It was not calling in the value in my record.  Hence the post within the community. I have tried various other steps and nothing seems to work.

Hmmm, that is strange because it worked for me. Can you take some screenshots of how you set it up? I am definitely willing to take a look!

Never mind, I missed a step - I thought they were answering a question on the form as Canada.

Re: Hiding an Existing form field

Thanks, Jeff and Michaela - I have it working properly now.  Mistake on the data end.  Just trying some creative options for the new CASL prior to 7/1.  This definitely adds to my to-do list for June, which is already full!

Thaks for taking the time to chime in.

Regards,
Mike
