Emails to @qq.com Clicking Links Automatically

Community -

Try this- create a smart list to show leads that click at least 5 links in an email (that obviously has more than 5 links). Once you send your email out, you'll notice that smart list will quickly accumulate your leads at qq.com as well as @mailinator leads.

Apparently their systems auto open AND click links (maybe they're caching the url?). Ultimately, this makes our click/open spike unnaturally right after we send emails and then come back down after a while has passed. I'd like to hear how others are dealing with this.

- Don't email these accounts (qq.com ones are probably real people in China)
- Just know that your stats are not accurate?
- Make an adjustment to your stats?

Example of auto clicking activity. These links are far down in my email yet have exactly the same performance immediately after delivery.

Some more stats - looks like this primarily happens for these three email service providers.

@qq.com 516
@foxmail.com 32
@vip.qq.com 6

Re: Emails to @qq.com Clicking Links Automatically

It happened to me too. After sending out a test email through Marketo (to my @qq.com mailbox), I just opened it but didn't click any links, while later the report shows it was clicked. Not sure if the Open number in report is accurate when contains @qq.com emails since I opened it too soon.

Marketo will probably figure out a way to adjust for this. I've heard of corporate IT filters that will auto-open and "click" all links for spam checking before, but never a major email provider.

Re: Emails to @qq.com Clicking Links Automatically

Was about to post the same find. We're seeing the same thing. Click rates of about 52% when we send to China, so we're now separating out our China email sends from everything else so that our stats aren't affected...

Hi everyone,

Would it be possible connect offline on this issue or via email?

We recently experienced this too and need help with diagnostic reporting in Marketo to hone in on the issue and decide what to do about all the emails with qq.com domain. Would greatly appreciate your help.
