Personalization within Engagement Program

Hello,

Within a stream of an engagement program, is there a way to have different emails go to different segments? For example, instead of dropping in the same emails that all users in the stream will go through, can you tailor based off certain SFDC fields which email they'd get? So "Email 1" would really be 4 different email options, and depending on someone's field A they'd get one of the four versions. "Email 2" in the stream would really be 4 different email options, and depending on someone's field B they'd get one of the four versions. And so forth. If there's an option to do this, I could create 4 segments for Field A and 4 segments for Field B, and send appropriately.

The alternative, if I have 4 options for Field A and 4 options for Field B, would be to create 16 engagement programs that address every single combination.

Appreciate your thoughts!

Thank you,

Build Programs and Smart Campaigns.  Do all the filtering work in the smart campaign.

Add the Program/Smart Campaign to your Engagement Program.

OR

Use Snippets w/ your Segments

Re: Personalization within Engagement Program

For clarification:

I could have a program with 16 smart campaigns where the filter is different for each audience and would send a different email, drop that entire program into the Master Engagement Program stream, and when it hits that program in the stream's cadence all 16 emails would go out at the same time?

Thanks!

Re: Personalization within Engagement Program

There's an easy way to do this:

Don't put an email in the stream, put a Program.  Inside the Program, have a smart campaign.  The Smart List is "Member of Engagement Program" (for this program)

In the Flow, but in a Send Email, then an Add Choice.

If FieldValue = A, then Email A

if FieldValue = B then Email B

etc, etc.

That was an extremely helpful tip--thank you! I tried setting it up, but at the bottom of the flow step it is telling me "Note: Only the first matching choice applies" Are you able to clarify this meaning? Is it that if multiple choices match one lead, then only the first one applies? If so, then that should be okay. But if it means that only the first rule will be applied and the others discarded, I don't know how this will work (though this wouldn't make sense).

Re: Personalization within Engagement Program

Hey Jordan Roberson the "only first matching choice applies" means that as they go down that choice list, as soon as they meet one of the criteria, then the others no longer apply.

So, in your screenshot above, if you used Postal Code starts with "9024", then even if their postal code was 90246 they would receive email 1.My first email, and not MKTOTEST

But yes, programs in your engagement program are likely going to be the best choice here.

You could also think about just using dynamic content within your emails to send the same email to everyone but show copy A to group A and copy B to group B, etc.
