Progressive Profiling - wrong person

Hi,

We have the following Marketo landing page that has a form at the bottom of it. It uses progressive profiling.

http://pages.gs1us.org/WF---20160421---Anti-Counterfeiting-Whitepaper_LP---Anti-Counterfeiting-WP.ht...

I'm hearing from quite a few of my fellow employees that when they visit this landing page, the form information is already filled out... but with one of our marketing colleague's information! And they all say they are seeing the same person's info.

I'm not able to duplicate this issue, but I'm thinking it's an internal issue? I have no idea what would cause this.

At least I hope it is. I hope customers aren't seeing some random person's information.

I was hoping the Marketo community could help me on this one and look at the above landing page and tell me if you are seeing a random person's contact information in the fields. Or if everything seems normal to you.

Thanks!

Re: Progressive Profiling - wrong person

This is a documented issue when the page URL is forwarded with the token information or the email was clicked on by a different person (eg: forwarded).

Are your employees on a seed list or forwarding emails around?

This can occur on all marketo forms.

Hi Josh,

Thank you for responding.

The link wasn't in an email that was forwarded. They are clicking the direct link from the homepage on our website:

https://www.gs1us.org/

It's available via a rotating slider. We currently have 5 sliders on our homepage that rotate randomly so I'm not sure which # slide it will be when you view it.

Make sure you are testing in an Incognito/Private tab.  It's impossible -- unless you have a misconfigured. internal proxy or something like that -- for a non-previously-cookied lead to see any other lead's information.

Thank you! Yes, I tested in an incognito window and everything seemed to be fine for me.

I'm just really confused on why a few of our employees are seeing this person's contact information filled out within the form.

Re: Progressive Profiling - wrong person

It typically happens when someone sent a test email around (not a sample but a real test) and people helpfully checked the links.

Only in very rare cases (like the IT-level mistake I alluded to above) does it not ultimately stem from user behavior, even if they didn't know what they were doing.
