How are others managing email distribution to staff?

Our staff have User objects in Salesforce (not Contact Records). We wanted to sync these to Marketo but that functionality doesn't exist. We want it organized by dept. Our sales team is huge, and is growing rapidly. Static list imports would be a nightmare for maintenance. Sales, Marketing and executive management (at minimum) need to receive copies of all marketing emails. Looking for the most effecient way to do this.

Hi Kristi,

Usually, what we do is to create an account in SFDC and add them as contacts, with specific values. Then in Marketo, we make sure that we filter them out of scoring and lead management smart campaign. You can even structure the account with child accounts for each dept.

If you have some resources, and you think it's really worth it, you would even consider creating a trigger in SFDC that automatically adds and remove the contacts when SFDC users are created, activated or deactivated.

You may want to consider using an API solution for this.  In Marketo you can create a custom object to hold your users, or you can syn them to the lead object and qualify them as esers with a field value.  Informatica has a great out of box API solution that you could leverage to do this with minimum development resources.

Hi Jamie,

using an ETL or similar solution is a great idea. But I would not recommend to store them in a custom object if you want to be able to email them
