MARKETING OPERATIONS ANALYST

DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Operations Analyst is responsible for scoping, launching, integrating, maintaining and optimizing the automated marketing program (using Marketo) designed to intelligently lead score, nurture leads and convert prospects through an aggressive closed-loop sales cycle.

In addition to mapping, managing and scoring leads in efforts to convert to sales-ready prospects, the Marketing Operations Analyst will integrate behavioral data captured from Marketo into Salesforce and be responsible for educating Salesforce users how to properly leverage prospect data to optimize their ability to close.

Manages a prioritized project list for marketing automation and works closely with Marketing and Sales team members on program execution and project completion. Will work on projects independently and have full oversight of programs, as well as conceive program improvements, solicit input from stakeholders and manage implementation.

This position is also responsible for pulling and analyzing campaign and customer data to optimize campaign performance and provide general insights.

The candidate is results-oriented and comfortable with a fast-paced environment.

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS
  • Lead management and nurturing over the entire lead lifecycle, from prospect to opportunity to sale to churn.
  • Campaign automation using automation tools such as Marketo or Eloqua.
  • Data management, including data quality initiatives.
  • Campaign performance and analytics to reveal trends and optimize decision-making.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and maintain lead nurturing programs, working with programs managers to develop content and program flow.
  • Build and maintain lead and customer scoring models.
  • Work with Marketing and Sales teams to analyze and optimize lead scoring and nurturing.
  • Help to define a "sales-ready lead" using lead scoring techniques agreed upon by Marketing and Sales.
  • Audit leads, identifying unqualified leads and funnel into Marketo nurturing programs until qualified.
  • Audit all campaigns to ensure they've been set up correctly, and ensure campaigns are being tracked correctly.
  • Troubleshoot the root cause of campaign errors and work to resolution.
  • Construct optimal workflows/process management procedures and ensure accurate synchronization between Marketo and Salesforce.com databases.
  • Identify new uses of lead data to improve decision-making.
  • Develop and produce standard reporting on lead transactional activity and value.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Marketo, including data uploads, updates and integration.
  • Work with IT/Engineering teams to integrate Marketo with other systems.
SKILLS
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including ability to work independently and as a team member, set priorities and organize work to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take on responsibility and work well under deadlines.
  • Understand the concept and interplay between automated marketing software, CRM database, direct response marketing and closed loop sales process
  • Knowledge and experience with data mining, data warehousing, business intelligence, lead management processes and technologies
  • Be an expert or advanced user of Excel (pivot/macros)
  • High energy and thrives in team-oriented culture and knows how to have fun.
  • Demonstrated experience with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Operations and IT.
  • Solid vendor management capabilities (scope, definition, deliverables, management, cost containment and results accountability).
  • Able to manage day-to-day program execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 4-6 years in a similar role.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Marketo, Eloqua or similar marketing automation software required. Marketo or Eloqua certified administrator a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM system required. Salesforce.com certified administrator a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required - Marketing, Math, Statistics or Technology focus (CSC / MIS) preferred.
  • HTML familiarity required, strong HTML coding background preferred.
