Terrible Click-rate, awesome registrations

I've seen a few threads about email clicks not being recorded and wondering if this is the same issue or different. We've had several examples recently where we've had an event invite sent out and the click rates have been terrible i.e. 3 from 3,000 people, but the campaign managers have told us that 40 to 50 people have signed up and there was no other promotion. Is there any way we could prevent the Marketo tracking link from being added to emails?

I think the threads you're talking about are more about non-human clicks being recorded and skewing results. This sounds like the opposite case.

You can turn click tracking off (it's a property of every link), but if the click tracking server is still redirecting people properly to your website, this seems like you'd just be hiding the problem.

What do you see as the referrer to the Visit Web Page activity for the lead (assuming this exists if people are signing up).
