Using Symbols in Subject Lines

Has anyone had success with using symbols subject lines for emails sent from Marketo? I've tried a copying and pasting a few options into the subject line field and it either doesn't render properly or it copies correctly but when I send a test it says the subject line is blank.

What do you mean by symbols?  Are you referring to emoji, or to non-Roman characters?

Kenny,

I'm referring to using unicode emoticons/text symbols. (see screenshot below)

We support a limited set of these, based on email client support.  Justin Cooperman has a better explanation here: https://nation.marketo.com/message/94077#107792

Re: Using Symbols in Subject Lines

This is super helpful! I just tried using the a symbol listed on ☂ Symbols — CopyPasteCharacter.com  and it worked! Thank you for your help.

(Is there any way to add a "subject line" tag to https://nation.marketo.com/message/94077#107792 so others can find it a little easier?
