Communication Preference Center

Does anyone have any experience creating a communication preference center with Marketo? I'd love to be able to do this using Forms 2.0, but I'm wondering what kind of campaigns I need to create to manage it.

Thanks!

Re: Communication Preference Center

There are a number of threads in the community about how to set it up, like this one:Re: Can any help to create the Subcription Preference -just look for Subscription Preference for other ones.

Re: Communication Preference Center

It's pretty easy to do if you're knowledgeable about Smart Lists and CSS.

For mechanics:

Create fields and Smart Lists based off those fields. Have someone check or uncheck the 'newsletter' field and create a Smart List of anyone who has the 'newsletter' field as checked. When sending a newsletter make sure you reference this Smart List in the Smart List of your Smart Campaign

For styling:

In your forms 2.0 you can create Fieldsets to group fields. These fieldsets can then be positioned wherever you want using CSS overrides. Take a look here , this was all done with Forms 2.0

We have created Email Preference Center

But it only works for existing records. It's not to subscribe. It's our unsubscribe center. The idea is that people do not fully unsubscribe, but stay partially opt-in.

Hi Diederik Martens,

If someone new wants to subscribe to your communication, how do they subscribe if the email preference center does not allow this?

Re: Communication Preference Center

Hi, This one is only for existing leads/contacts, which can reach it through an unsubscribe link (preference link) in emails they already receive. But it could also work for new people, as for anonymous visitors, it would also show the fields email, last name, first name. Though we copied the form so we can really split subscribe from unsubscribe behavior.

Re: Communication Preference Center

Usually what I do is use a form from froms 2.0.  Then give individuals choices via the form to add themselves to certain lists.  Campaigns then add them to those lists.  Or when I create campaigns I use the value fo that field as a filter.  for ex.  If optioptout = true then include\exclude.

The other thing I do is give them an option to stop comunications for a given amount of time, say 90 days.  Then I add them to marketing suspended for 90 days if the select that option.
