Updating/removing members of engagement program when changing smart campaign

I activated a smart campaign to put people into an engagement program (stream 1) and 20 people went into the program. The cast is being sent next week. I went back and edited the triggers and the smart list and now I don't know who should actually be in the campaign or not out of those 20 people. Will the list of members refresh? If those 20 people no longer fit the criteria will they get removed from the program? Or is it that once you trigger them into a campaign via an active smart campaign, they are in there permanently unless you somehow manually get them out. Just need to make sure we don't email the wrong people. Thank you!

Re: Updating/removing members of engagement program when changing smart campaign

Hi Alyssa,

Once a lead has been added to an Engagement Program the smart list of the campaign that added them no longer evaluates them.  What I would recommend is going into the Members tab of your Engagement Program and setting all of their statuses to Not In Program.  This will clear those 20 people out of the program, and you can run the smart campaign again with the new smart list logic.  Then you'll only have those leads that qualify for the campaign now in the program.

Re: Updating/removing members of engagement program when changing smart campaign

Hi John,

Thanks for the speedy response. One problem with that solution is that some of the people may still meet the criteria and therefore should be in the engagement program. I don't know if there is a way I can remove people and then have them go through the smart campaign again..

Thanks,

Alyssa

Sure, as long as the Schedule tab of the campaign says that leads can run through it every time, then there won't be any problem with them running through again.  Alternatively, you could just look at the Qualified Leads list in the campaign to see who currently qualifies for the list, and then go through and manually remove the others from the program.
