Anyone trying to verify someone's identity prior to a webinar (prevent forwarded links to join)?

We've recently encountered a case where we know that some people who watched a Webinar weren't marked as attended in the corresponding program. We know they attended because they filled out a survey immediately following the session. They aren't marked as attended in the Marketo program or in our Webinar provider, WebEx. We wonder if maybe one person at the organization registered, but forwarded the link on to someone else.

We contacted WebEx to see if they can ask for someone's email address upon entry to verify they are who we think they are, but this is not a feature they offer. they suggested contacting Marketo.

Has anyone gotten creative about how to prevent forwarded link and possibly verify the identity of someone upon entry to the Webinar? I could imagine a process where someone clicks a link in their confirmation email which takes them to a custom landing page which asks "Is this you?". If they say yes then it could uses the token to join them to the webinar, if not then it redirects them to register. Would this work? Anyone tried this approach?

The "Is this you?" logic is built into Forms 2.0 (it's in the "If known lead, show" option) so this should be possible, yes.
