February 2019 SLC MUG Recap - "Don't Create Content - Create Experiences"

To all the Salt Lake City User Group members who attended and participated in our February meeting - Thank you!

 

We had a great turnout and participation with a few new faces (hope to see you all at future meetings).

 

At our February MUG meeting we were enlightened on the benefits of "Experiential Content" from Ryan Brown of Ceros. To be honest, first time I heard this phrase but glad Ryan provided and guided us on what this means.

 

We learned that creating great content experiences are both an art and a science. Most experiences are either different or memorable (good or bad). Generally we remember the good ones and the bad ones, but forget most of the others in our days. Humans make decisions based on logic and feelings (yep even B2B), which are formed by our experiences! A quote from Source Walker: "Customer Experience will overtake price and product as the key brand differentiator by the year 2020" - this is definitely a game changer and we need to understand how to make our content great and create those great experiences customers will remember (the good ones). We also had the chance to hear from Ayana Nickerson, Marketo Certification Program Mgr, on the certification program, steps, and some tips and tricks to help those that are pursuing their MCE or MCA. We recorded this portion of the meeting so you can listen and review again.

 

We wrapped up the meeting with additional discussion, questions, and input as we reviewed the prior three sessions of the MCE Study Prep Group. Special thanks to Ceros for presenting and being our sponsor! The sandwiches from Firehouse Subs was a huge hit and enjoyed by all!
