To merge two groups together, you will have to head into one of these groups and select all contacts in this group.
Select Add people to group
A window pane will appear verifying this group merge. Here you will have to select the group you would like to move these contacts to.
Note: To make sure there are no duplicates, you will want to go back and delete this old group.
